Warriors Repose is a Vietnam War memorial located on the campus of the National Hispanic Cultural Center in Albuquerque, New Mexico.
Dedicated to Pete Padilla and Manuel Mora, two young Chicanos from Albuquerque's South Valley who perished in the war, the memorial acts as a literal and metaphorical gateway between the Rio Grande Bosque and the Hispano community of Barelas.
The project was commissioned by the State of New Mexico, Department of Cultural Affairs. It was publicly dedicated on Veteran's Day, 2015.
Spencer Beckwith, a producer at KUNM radio, interviewed the artists just prior to the dedication of the work. Listen to the interview here.
